I am a web producer, researcher, writer and all around internet/strategic communications guru for social change.
I am currently working on two research and writing projects:
-
"Minds and War Machines" - about cyber warfare, robotic warfare and the military-industrial-academic-industrial complex.
-
"In Search of King Ludd" - about the cultural and social implications of the Luddite Rebellion in England (1811-1812).
I am the Internet Coordinator for two projects:
-
Marcellus Protest, which is a Southwestern Pennsylvania alliance fighting fracking in the Marcellus Shale. I'm responsible for creating and editing content, maintaining our social media accounts, over-seeing our google groups, generating online publicity and outreach, providing technical assistance to members, fielding inquiries, designing graphics, supervising volunteers, and developing new sites.
-
Witness Against Torture, which is currently organizing 10 days of activities in Washington, D.C. demanding an end to torture and indefinite detention at Guantanamo, Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, and elsewhere, and that the president reject the just-passed National Defense Authorization Act.
I am also involved with Occupy Pittsburgh.
In an earlier life I produced award-winning documentaries such as The Question of Equality, which was the first-ever public television series about the LGBTQ movement, and Voices from the Front, a feature-length documenary about AIDS activism.
Personal stuff: I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I love running, biking, reading and cooking. I'm a devout vegan. See my facebook page.
